Best Books for JEE and NEET - Toppers' Recommendations

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

With the myriad of book options available, we understand if you find yourself getting confused as to which one to buy. Now, when it comes to books, there is no one size that fits all. That said, we here would like to recommend some of the books which worked for many toppers.

JEE Books:

  • Physics: NCERT + H.C. Verma + Coaching Packages + D.C. Pandey

  • Chemistry: NCERT + Coaching Packages + P. Bahadur/O.P. Tandon (Physical Chemistry) + Himanshu Pandey/M.S. Chauhan (Organic Chemistry) + J.D. (Inorganic Chemistry theory)

  • Mathematics: NCERT + Coaching Packages + Cengage (G. Tewani)/ M.L. Khanna

NEET Books:

  • Physics: NCERT + H.C. Verma/Arihant's Objective Physics + Coaching Packages

  • Chemistry: NCERT (Physical + Inorganic + Organic) + Coaching Packages (Allen/Akash)

  • Mathematics: NCERT (As much as 90% questions comes from here) + Coaching Packages

The above combination of books should give you the much-needed exposure to quality theory explanation and practice questions. Complemented with previous years' questions and all India test series, these books helped many people score a decent rank in JEE and NEET.

We would like to clarify that these are mere suggestions and we do not endorse these books. These books helped us with our preparation but there is a chance that they might not be the best fit for you. We suggest you take advice from your coaching lecturers and teachers as well as explore all the available options before finally settling down with one choice.

We hope this helps you.
